General Risks for All Injectable Treatments

Common Side Effects (Usually Temporary)

  • Swelling at injection sites (usually resolves within 2-7 days)
  • Bruising (typically fades within 7-14 days)
  • Redness and tenderness at injection sites
  • Mild pain or discomfort during and after injection
  • Temporary numbness or altered sensation
  • Small lumps or bumps (usually resolve with massage)

Rare But Serious Risks

  • Infection at injection sites
  • Allergic reactions or hypersensitivity
  • Vascular occlusion (blocked blood vessel)
  • Tissue necrosis (death of tissue)
  • Blindness (extremely rare with facial injections)
  • Granuloma formation (inflammatory nodules)

Treatment-Specific Risks

Dermal Fillers & Lip Fillers (Hyaluronic Acid)

Additional Risks Include:

  • Asymmetry or uneven results
  • Migration of filler to adjacent areas
  • Tyndall effect (bluish discoloration)
  • Prolonged swelling (especially in lips)
  • Activation of cold sores (if prone)

Vascular Occlusion Signs:

Seek immediate medical attention if you experience:

  • • Severe pain or increasing pain
  • • Skin discoloration (white, dusky, or mottled)
  • • Cool skin temperature
  • • Pustules or blisters

Anti-Wrinkle Injections

Additional Risks Include:

  • Drooping eyelid (ptosis)
  • Eyebrow droop or asymmetry
  • Unintended muscle relaxation nearby
  • Headache or flu-like symptoms
  • Muscle weakness in treated areas

Treatment-Specific Considerations:

  • Results are temporary (3-6 months)
  • May require touch-up treatments
  • Resistance may develop with repeated use

Fat Dissolving Injections (PCDC)

Additional Risks Include:

  • Significant swelling (expected, lasts 3-7 days)
  • Hardness or firmness in treated area
  • Nerve injury causing numbness
  • Skin ulceration (rare)
  • Uneven fat reduction

Important Notes:

  • • Multiple treatments usually required
  • • Results are permanent if weight maintained
  • • Not suitable for those with soy allergies
  • • Significant downtime expected

Skin Boosters, Bio-Stimulators & PRP

Additional Risks Include:

  • Multiple injection site reactions
  • Delayed granuloma formation (bio-stimulators)
  • Prolonged nodules or bumps
  • Uneven texture improvement

PRP-Specific Risks:

  • Risks related to blood draw
  • Fainting or dizziness
  • Variable results
