Important Update on New TGA Guidelines
Important Update: Changes to Our Advertising
Dear Clients,
You may notice some changes to our page, advertising and website going forward. We’re making this post to help reduce any confusion this may cause.
New TGA Restrictions
The TGA (Therapeutic Goods Administration) has recently introduced new restrictions to the cosmetic industry which are among the strictest in the world. The aim of these guidelines is to regulate what cosmetic businesses can and cannot say in their advertising.
Key Points:
- Mentioning brand names of prescription treatments was already forbidden
- The new rules forbid even indirect references to these prescription medications
What’s Changing?
Going forward, we will not be able to make the following references:
- “anti-wrinkle injections”
- “lip/dermal fillers”
- “fat-dissolving injections”
- Many other commonly used terms
We may also be forced to remove all before/after images from our website and Instagram – we are still waiting on advice on this.
What This Means for You
Please note that:
- This does not change our services
- All prescription treatments have always only been available to patients subsequent to a medical consultation and thorough analysis
- It merely affects what we can and cannot say
- This affects every single cosmetic clinic in Australia
Our Position
While we regret the confusion and misunderstanding this is likely to cause to our patients, and believe thoroughly in our doctors and nurses, as well as the right of patients to make their own informed decisions, our top priority is to follow the law.
Questions?
Thanks for understanding and please message or email us if you have any questions!
